Don't Forget

December 11, 2010 12:16 am

Don't forget to go to NHL.com and vote for your all-stars.  Howard is not an official ballot member, so be sure to write him in.  If you vote for Crosby I will find you, and drive you crazy!  I swear to God!  Just kidding.  But seriously, Crosby is a tool.  Vote Lids as well.

First 2 Games 2010

June 21, 2010 7:45 pm

Well, we now know before the complete schedule is released who detroit opens with. . . Oct 8 at the Joe vs Anaheim and then in Chicago the next night for the Hawks home-opener. . .  Thanks, NHL for starting off the season with a back-to-back including travel.  I hope Detroit pushes in Hawks turd as they raise their banner.  Not that I think next year's Hawks team will be much trouble.  They can't even dress a full team yet, and have no money with which to spend.  Time to dump salaries and trade players. . . just can't get rid of Huet and Campbell though.  Those sure are nice cap hits.

Wings reclaim Central on their way to another title in '11.  No way this team has to endure the injuries this year as they did last year.

Those Mangy Desert Dogs Beat Up On Redwings

April 15, 2010 9:08 pm

Wha'happened?  The Wings looked good through the first 2 periods and then, I don't what...  Doan sure is a one man wrecking crew and he has a partner in Jovonavich who is a tough guy too.
So I'm guessing Babs will make it really clear to Justin Abdelkader to now play every bit as tough as PHX is playing.
Usually not a lot of fights happen in playoff hockey but that seems to be what the PHX plastic snake tossers want.
Unfortunately, Mr. May isn't gonna put much of a hurting on a Doan or a Jovo.  Brad May is tough as nails and not a bit scared but he is out of his league with those two.
May only really brings the fighting too - not much speed or puck shooting/handling ability from him these days.  I like Brad May - I'm glad he's a part of the Redwings now, being brought back up from the Grand Rapids Griffins, but I expect Abdelader to carry the tough guy role next game.We shall see!

Tough Row To Hoe

March 14, 2010 12:48 pm

Lots of folks are talking about whether or not the Redwings are going to make it to the playoffs this year.
Hard for me to fathom that the perennial powerhouse Detroit Redwings could possibly NOT be in the playoffs - in any year!
But it is a possibility this season - and we all know why.  Injuries.  Scores and scores of tragic injuries.
Hopefully, they are all behind the Team now.  Everyone is relatively healthy and playing fairly well.
As the esteemed Mickey Redmond frequently says, it will take the Wings winning 3 out of every 5 from here on out and toss in a couple overtimes too, for the Team to make it in this year.
I think there is no Team that wants to play the Redwings.  They all know how dangerous they now are.
But even as tough of a row to hoe this entire season has been - they still ahve a good shot at making it.
They can do it.
Go Wings!

WINGS ARE BACK!

November 15, 2009 9:24 am

alot of people i know were very quick to judge the Red Wings this year on there slow start.  even with all of the injuries,  the helms, abelkaders(i know i butchered that one!), ericsson, and even Jimmy Howard has shown he can play in this league.  hank zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk are one of the best one-two punches in the league, if not the best.  above all else,  i would not want anyone else behind that bench than mike babcock.  he is without question, the best hockey coach on the planet.  do i think the wings are gonna win the divison?  maybe not.  but i think they will be hitting there stride at the right time.  PLAYOFF TIME!  get ready for another Wild ride this year wings fans!
